Axel's 1st swim

We went up to Lars's house in Sonoma yesterday for some nice weather (we had to get away form the cold and fog of the city.) We all had a great time by the pool and Axel splashed around for the 1st time. Annika loved the whole visit and did not want to leave. Thanks Lars!

Duke visits

Godfather Duke (aka "D-dad, as Annika calls him) came to visit for a few days on his way to Seattle from Key West. Annika adorned herself with tattoos for the visit and played helper. She pointed out the SF sights on the map and shined some shoes for "D-dad". Again, Annika shed some tears at the airport - sweet but sad.

Hayden, Annika, Max and Axel

Kelly and Hayden came to Noe Valley and met up with us and Beth, Max and Katie... the 2 1/2 year olds were very cute walking down 24th street and at the playground together. Axel is now pretty much sitting up on his own (with the occasional face plant) and has discovered the joys of sand.

papa visits part 2

Papa went home yesterday and we had a great time (and he got a lot of work done on our place!) We walked, played horse, and went to the beach. Papa also finished up the ground floor rec room - Annika was very helpful in the process. It looks fantastic and we are so excited to have a play space right next to the garden. Annika has also started to understand goodbyes more, and got very teary when we dropped Papa off at the airport - heartbreaking!

papa visits

Papa is visiting and Annika is loving it (when she is not throwing a 2 1/2 year old tantrum - she is really testing me these days!) Axel is eating a lot and I think I got him constipated from bananas - but I think we are almost back on track now (maybe too much information?)...Annika is also insisting on eating many of her foods pureed as well, I knew that was coming! Also, Morten is thinking of getting into the hair-styling business.

4th of July at the Gerbers

It was pretty hot in Northern Cali yesterday (San Francisco was beautiful - but it rarely gets hot) We went up to Marin to Kelly, Jonas and Hayden's for a b-b-que and ice cream - all clothing optional (well, it is Marin County!) Annika was the first to strip down, and she and Hayden had a blast. Axel and the rest of us tried to stay as cool as possible in the shade.

Annika's 1st dentist visit

Annika sat and was so happy the entire appointment - her teeth are in great shape. Dr. James was great and brings her dog to the office (which, of course, won Annika over.)
